Sometimes clients have significant insight into their patterns, can articulate what is getting in the way of change, and yet continue to feel stuck in their lives.
Developed by Dr. Jacob Moreno, psychodrama uses guided dramatic action to move clients beyond talking about their experiences to actively engaging with them. This experiential approach allows clients to examine past or present challenges through therapeutic role play in the here and now. Together, therapist and client bring important relationships, moments, and internal conflicts into the room—creating opportunities to see oneself more clearly, express what has not been said, and experiment with new ways of being.
This experiential workshop will introduce participants to psychodramatic interventions that support clients in getting unstuck. Through demonstrations and exercises, participants will learn how the core principles and applications of psychodrama move clients beyond insight into action toward healing and growth. Whether in individual or group psychotherapy, psychodrama provides an action-based framework that supports change.
